He suffered a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. Gary Ray Dugaw was born in Union City on May 13 1944, the son of his parents, the deceased Leon Henry Dugaw and Agnes Maude Hawley Dugaw. Awarded the title of an outstanding employee, Gary’s exceptional dedication to his job has earned him respect and promotions throughout his career. Gary worked for Cohen Auto Parts; 2 years at Airco Inc.; 30 years at Findley and 10 years working at Airgas before taking his retirement, which he earned. A lover of the outdoors, he loved hunting and travelling. Spending time with people who he loved was an important factor for Gary and he left behind many memories of happy times and memories for them to treasure and be passed on. Gary was a fervent fan of the game, and particularly rooted for his favorite teams of The Cleveland Browns and the Oregon Ducks. Gary was a part of the South Erie Turners, the National Club, and the Knights of St. George. In the same way as Gary’s grandparents, Gary was preceded in death by his first wife Avanel and a younger sister named Gladys Allen Gocal.

How Did Gary Ray Dugaw Die?

His spouse Terri (Desser) Dugaw; son Kirk Dugaw and daughters Michelle (Dugaw) Bennett and her husband Doug and their children Chantelle, Grace, and Sami Bennett, and Ashley Dugaw as well as the great-granddaughter Alice Rose; a brother Maxford Dugaw and an older sister Justine Maloney; and a host of loved nieces and nephews who loved their dear Uncle Gary. The family is invited to visit for a visit Van Matre Funeral Home in Edinboro on Thursday, between 3 and 7 pm. They are also invited for a funeral on Friday at 10 AM to be followed by burial in the Edinboro Cemetery and luncheon at South Erie Turners, 2663 Peach Street.
