Mwai Kibaki is also known as Emilio Mwai Kibaki and is the President of Kenya. Kibaki was the eighth child of eight. He was born in 1931. He was awarded a scholarship to Makerere University, Uganda for his secondary school results. There he studied Economics, History, and Political Science. In 1955, he graduated with first-class honors and began working for Shell’s Uganda branch. When he received a scholarship to the London School of Economics, he left his position. He returned to Makerere University in 1958 as an assistant lecturer for economics.
